Causes and solutions of surface damage of aluminum profiles

Main cause of surface damage of aluminum profiles

1. There are impurities attached to the surface of the ingot or segregation of the ingot composition. When there is a large number of segregation floats on the surface of the ingot and the ingot is not homogenized or the homogenization effect is not good, there are a certain number of hard metal particles in the ingot, and when the metal flows through the working belt during the extrusion process, these segregation floats or hard metal particles attach to the surface of the working belt or cause damage to the working belt, and finally cause scratches to the surface of the profile;

2. There are sundries on the mold cavity or working belt, and the hardness of the mold working belt is low, so that the surface of the working belt is injured and scratches the profile when extruded;

3. There are exposed metal or hard inclusions in the graphite strip on the discharging track or pendulum bed, which will cause scratches on the surface of the profile when it comes into contact with the profile;

4. When the fork rod sends the profile from the discharging track to the swinging bed, the profile is injured due to the excessive speed;

5. Artificially dragging the profile on the bed to cause abrasions;

6. During transportation, the profiles rub against each other or squeeze each other to cause damage

Solution

1. Strengthen the control of ingot quality;
2. Improve the quality of mold repair, regular nitriding of molds and strict implementation of nitriding process;
3. Use soft felt to isolate the profile from the auxiliary device to minimize the contact damage between the profile and the auxiliary device;
4. In production, it should be handled with care, and try to avoid dragging or turning the profile at will;
5. Place the profiles reasonably in the material frame and try to avoid friction with each other.
